INTERFACE CONTROL AND INVENTORY MANAGEMENT USING KODATA® SOUNDING TYPE TRANSMITTERSMEASURMENTS OF INTERFACES, LIQUIDS AND BULK SOLIDS RELIABLEY UNDER DIFFICULT CONDITIONS INCLUDING FOAM, HIGH TEMPERATURE, AND PRESSURIZATION THE NEW KODATA® MEASURING SYSTEM

up to 30 tanks of assorted materials in storage; only a 2 wire com link
is required Features
Operating Principle A sounding transmitter is located on top of the tank or silo to be measured. A plummet (float or weight) is lowered until it touches the process material and is then retracted. The distance traveled is computed and transmitted as a signal representing level, volume, or weight. The signal may be remotely displayed and is directly read in engineering units. All calibration, configuration, and test data reside in the memory of each sounding transmitter. The remoted operate/display device is inherently very simple and easy to setup and program. Each sounding unit(s) may be remotely operated by any of several display/control devices. The operating device can be a PLC, Model 825, host computer, or a combination of these. Delta Controls can provide required interface and software.

The Delta Controls Model 831 Sounding level transmitter outputs a signal representing volume, weight or level. The com signal may be 4-20 mA, RS-485, or CC pulse output. It incorporates reliable digital electronics and smart software, allowing it to operate from a manual Model 825S display/control unit or from a Model 826 remote display. It can also be operated by manual pushbutton, PLC, host computer or internal timer. It can be calibrated, reconfigured, tested, and read from up to 4000 feet away. Up to 30 level transmitters may be in a single 2 wire com loop. The Delta Controls 831 can be configured to read a totally full tank, eliminating the need for top dead space. The Nozzlegard feature protects the cable, virtually eliminating problems such as fraying, kinking, and breaking. |

The Delta Controls Model 825S Remote Display/Control Unit communicates with one or more Model 831 sounding level transmitters to initiate and display measurements. Communication is bi-directional over a single wire pair RS-485 loop. It remotely controls transmitters, and displays content in from 1 to 30 tanks, silos, etc. Two Model 825S units, in separate locations can both control and read the same loop; flush or surface mounting. |
